Pickleball is a paddle sport using paddle-like rackets. It’s a fast-paced game for 2 or 4 players and is similar to tennis (it usually has 3 sets of play). Its popularity and recent resurgence can be attributed to how easy the game can be learned and played. Plus, it doesn’t require much equipment. You just need a pickleball, a pair of pickleball paddles, and a pickleball court!

Pickleball Court Dimensions

If you’re a stickler to the rules, you want the right dimensions for your pickleball court. A regulation court size for pickleball is 44 ft x 20 ft. and an allowance for the out-of-bounds area. This applies to both grass pickleball courts and other surfaces. Court surface should provide great traction and shock absorption and must be set on a foundation that is durable and sturdy. Cornerstone Courts can provide that kind of surface for your pickleball games. The net should be 36” at the posts and 34” in the middle.

A Pickleball Court in the Backyard

While some choose to have grass pickleball courts in their backyards, others choose to build one with their preferred surface. Cornerstone Courts recommends a 34 ft x 64 ft court size if you want a standalone court.
